SAN DIEGO, CA (SolidWorks World 2014) - Lagoa offers photorealistic rendering for free on web using a browser on any device. Stunning graphics, utmost convenience, built-in collaboration, and a great deal, combined to bowl over several of our Best of Show judges at SolidWorks World.
I enjoy using the photo rendering tools available from SolidWorks. After seeing the demonstration of Lagoa, I was surprised at how much the model could be manipulated while it was being rendered. I decided to set up my own free account and started uploading files. I was immediately creating renderings that I was able to download from my account. The interface is easy to use and the help files and FAQ sections are very informative for a person just starting out with the site. The pro account offers greater cloud storage capacity, multiple sessions open concurrently, 2x faster speed over the free account, and priority rendering.

My best freebie. Is this really FREE?!? A web-based photo-rendering tool that is intuitive to use. Open to simultaneous interaction between multiple users. It can use parts made from different platforms while operating on the cloud. While this is supposed to be used for collaboration, I’m planning on using like a 3D “GoToMeeting” for customer reviews and discussions with non-domestic vendors.

Spin a part on a website and it's a result of hundreds of still pictures painfully generated one at a time, and usually constrained to move along the major axes. Lagoa allows for real time motion of a part with on the fly rendering so not only is it easier to create part libraries but viewers have much more freedom in how to pan, rotate and zoom a part online.
