SAN DIEGO, CA (SolidWorks World 2014) -Train yourself using SolidProfessor's SolidWorks training, because if you try to take a real class, your class will proceed at the "speed of the dumbest guy in the room," says Joe McCaferty who does sales for SolidProfessor, one of the more well established maker of computer based training for SolidWorks users.
I had asked Joe why would I buy SolidProfessor, expecting him to recount the usual answers: 1)you can go at your own pace and 2) it's cheaper than sending people off to class and losing them for days.
"..and when it's over, it's over!" says Joe. "Who are you going to call when you have questions?"
I wonder how you can ask questions of SolidProfessor, but Joe tells me the search with SolidProfessor is quite good.
SolidProfessor takes narration of the computer based training quite seriously, using a professional voice actor to read from a script, which will no doubt spoil you for the DIY YouTube video with their awkward pauses, dead air, a dozen "ummms....," thick accents, and whatever imperfections that at best, distract from the lesson, and dnd worst, cannot be understood.
SolidProfessor has used the same professional voice actor for so long and for so many subjects that some users come up to Joe and ask if they can meet him, says Joe. "Who is this guy that knows everything about SolidWorks?" says Joe with a laugh.
