I'll always remember Jeff Ray calling and leaving me a message. Was he upset with something I posted on my blog? Nope, he called me to apologize for a reported bug in a service pack, I was blown away. Later, I got to know him better and he always was a first class act.

Roopinder,

I have had the privilege of knowing Jeff Ray for about the past 4 years, and have been lucky enough to work for him for the past 2 years. I joined SolidWorks in January of 2009 just as the recession was starting to hit hard. Having just moved 3,000 miles across the country to work in Concord, I was relieved to hear Jeff say that it was his goal to make sure that no one from SolidWorks would lose their job from layoffs. As usual Jeff kept his word and we all pulled together to weather 2009 and actually emerge with growth of the company. Jeff was always good at inspiring people be it the employees of SolidWorks, or the user base.

I think the only time I have ever seen Jeff not in a pressed button down SolidWorks shirt, are in pictures of him riding in the Pan Mass Challenge ride!

SolidWorks will definitely miss his leadership, but he has left us in good hands, and we are excited to see him bring the SolidWorks way of working to the mother ship in France!
