SolidWorks Labs Introduced

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (SolidWorks World 2007), February 5, 2007 - SolidWorks introduced SoldWorks Labs, a website from which it will offer an early look at new products and technologies from its R&D divisions. SolidWorks follows the example of Google, and Autodesk, both of which have had similar "lab" sites.

Currently, SolidWorks labs offers  four products, all of them in beta versions and all previously unannounced:

  • Drawings Now - browser based drawing access
  • CosmosXpress Now - do analysis using web browser, on computers that don't have software installed
  • Zoomin - looks like a "fun" viewer for 3D models, add/change color, animate, etc.
  • DWG Navigator - searches DWG and DXF files for data, includes Pack and Go
